epigenom

innovative predictive system

epigenom

project

about our project

Lack of hypothesis about the perpetrator of the crime at the stage of conducted investigations limits the usefulness of the analysis of biological traces in criminal cases. We propose the development of an innovative prediction system for the analysis of biological traces involving the analysis of epigenetic data for forensic DNA intelligence purposes. The chronological and biological age in different tissues will be predicted. Thanks to information about the aging rate, we will improve the accuracy of the prediction of appearance traits.

In addition, we will use the genome methylation pattern to differentiate monozygotic twins and predict selected lifestyle information such as smoking or physical activity. The final product of the project will be validated research protocols and an internet computer program containing mathematical algorithms that facilitate statistical analysis of epigenetic data, as well as guidelines for interpreting the obtained research results.
